Curriculum Vitae

Hello! I am a creative, enthusiastic, honest and genuine individual. I enjoy spending time with my family and sitting on the deck with a cup of tea. I love to read and will either be tackling a textbook, lost in a chapter book or enjoying short stories on reddit. My guilty pleasure is online gaming (not something I usually like to admit on the outset! But it is something I think will help me connect with the learners of this generation). Not only this, but I love to be challenged, both inside and outside the classroom (my most current challenge to myself was to make an interactive online résumé - there's a first time for everything!!)

Teaching Experience

  • Range of ages including babies from 3 months to adults
  • Extend and support all swimmers
  • Provide fun but challenging lessons that facilitate progression
  • Establish trusting relationships with each learner and their families
  • Resolve any concerns for families and /or teachers
  • Short lessons require excellent time and behaviour management
  • Supervise classes, monitor progress and assess children—requires effective and supportive communication between learners and families as well as other teachers and non-teaching staff

Northcross Intermediate – Y8 - decile 10 (4 weeks)

I fully immersed myself in a one-week camp at Finlay park, where I was able to see my relationships with students, staff members and parents flourish outside of the classroom. My greatest achievement would be the spontaneous read aloud session, which was so successful in engaging and motivating the students that it became a daily literacy program.

Massey Primary School – Y2/3 - decile 3 (5 weeks)

During this practicum I completed 10 successful days of full control. This allowed me to strengthen my positive approach to behaviour and classroom management. Moreover, I wasgiven the opportunity to practice personalising learning, learning tumbles and manage the diversity in mixed ability groups. I also carried out and analysed PM benchmark reading assessments.

Beach Haven Primary School - Y4 - decile 4 (6 weeks)

I developed, implemented and adapted a new maths programme alongside my AT, which was built on personalising learning through a tumble-based system. Each child was given an individual tracker and conferenced with on a regular basis to discuss their progress and next learning steps. I was also involved in the school production as well as cross country. As I was on full control during these whole-school events, I was also able to strengthen my flexibility as timetabling would change last minute
